GRINNELL, Iowa — Grinnell and Lawrence needed three extra periods of play before they could decide a 150-149 victory by the Pioneers at home.

Steve Wood scored a game-high 48 points for Grinnell in the win, shooting 15-for-33 from the floor, 5-for-14 from 3-point line and 13-for-15 from the line. Chris Braier scored 45 for Lawrence, which shot 67% from the floor but just 64% from the line, going 6-for-14 in the second half and overtimes. Braier added 23 rebounds before fouling out.

Lawrence turned the ball over 21 times, compared to 13 for Grinnell. The Pioneers (10-4, 5-2 Midwest Conference) shot 50-for-126 from the floor and 30-for-37 from the line in the win.
