The Golden Flyers rallied to erase a 10-point second half deficit and tie the game with 2:17 to play, but could not pull out the victory, losing to Hartwick 70-61 on Saturday to snap a 13 game winning streak.
Nazareth led by as many as five late in the first half, but Hartwick responded with a 19-2 run on the way into the locker room to take a 40-28 lead.
Jimmy Evans tied the game at 61 when he converted on a four-point play, finishing a 10-0 run. But a 3-point basket by Hartwick's Matt Guzielek put the Hawks up 64-61 to win the game.
Joel Blackwell led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 8-for-13 from the floor and 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Nate Cramer and Guizelek added 12 apiece.
Evans led the way for Nazareth with 17 points and six rebounds but also committed a pair of technical fouls. Fran Zablocki added 13 points.
The loss was the first for the Golden Flyers since a 1-2 start in November. The loss was Nazareth's first conference loss, dropping its record to 5-1 in the Empire 8 and 14-3 overall.
