St. Lawrence keyed Muhlenberg's upset of No. 9 Scranton by scoring 14
of her game-high 19 points in the first 7:16. She also had two assists
and a rebound during that span, helping the Mules jump out to a 28-13
lead. She finished 8-for-15 from the floor, adding three assists and three
steals.
Tanga Williams
Williams set a school record of eight 3-pointers in a 96-69 win against
Goucher. She ended up shooting 10-for-18 from long range for the week,
averaging 26 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals.
Rachael Poland
Poland earned All-Tournament at the Ferrum College Classic on Jan. 4-5.
She scored 32 points in The 'Berg's 74-61 victory against Ferrum and averaged
24 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two games.
Kate Guggino
Guggino posted a career-high 16 rebounds against Newport News and career-high
32 points against Christopher Newport en route to a 27-point average for
the week. Guggino shot 21-for-37 from the floor and 11-for-12 from the
line.
Jennifer Patterson
Patterson led Centre to victories against Rhodes and Hendrix by averaging
26 points and 11 rebounds for the two games. She shot an incredible 81.5%
(22-for-27) from the floor for the weekend, and scored 31 points against
Rhodes on a 13-for-16 performance from the floor. Patterson also chipped
in 21 points on Sunday against Hendrix on 9-for-11 shooting. She was also
8-for-12 from the free-throw line (66%) on the weekend.
Duane Parham
Parham tied his own school record for 3-pointers in a game, scoring 24
of his 29 points in the second half of a win against Messiah and 13 of
his 19 points in the second half of a win against Savannah Art & Design.
Parham shot 15-for-24 from the floor, 10-for-15 from 3-point range and
9-for-11 from the line while adding six assists and six rebounds in the
two games.
Adam Johnson
Jones averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two games.
In a 77-55 victory against Coe, he scored 13 points, grabbed four rebounds
and dished out four assists. The following evening against Cornell, Jones
scored 28 points on 8-for-13 shooting including 7-for-11 from 3-point
range. In the 96-56 victory, he also grabbed five rebounds and handed
out two assists in 24 minutes.
Mark Lesko
Lesko was named MVP of Whittier's Purple & Gold Poet Classic after leading
the Mules to the championship with wins against Whittier and Richard Stockton.
He had 32 points and a career-high-tying 17 rebounds in the championship
game. Lesko has scored in double figures in 34 consecutive games and has
seven double-doubles this year. Lesko averaged 26.5 points and 14.5 rebounds,
shooting 20-for-30 from the floor in the two games.
Derek Reich
Reich averaged 31.5 points and 9.5 rebounds as Chicago split a pair of
games. In a 63-57 win against Benedictine, he scored 34 points, including
the go-ahead basket in the game's final three minutes. He then finished
with 29 points and 14 boards in a 65-62 loss at No. 10 Washington.
Darren Pugh
Pugh led Lebanon Valley to the Rinso Marquette Invitational championship,
averaging 17.0 points and 15.5 rebounds in wins over Delaware Valley and
John Jay. In the tournament’s first round game against Delaware Valley,
Pugh had a game-high 16 points and 16 rebounds, along with three blocks
and one steal. He shot 71.4% from the field (5-for-7). In the championship
game, Pugh scored 18 points and picked up 15 rebounds to help give LVC
the championship.
