Julie Christensen
Christensen helped her team to a 2-1 overall mark on the week and a 1-0
start in the LMC. In the Warriors' three games, she averaged 14 points,
8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.0 steals. Christensen recorded her first
double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 assists in a 61-49 win
over Dominican (Ill.).
Sara Vestfals
Vestfals shot 16-for-33 from the floor, 9-for-15 from 3-point range and
7-for-8 from the line in a 2-1 week for LeTourneau. She had 23 rebounds
in the three games.
Amy Campion
Campion led the Sea Gulls to a 3-0 week, averaging 26.0 points, 10.6 rebounds,
8.0 steals, and 7.0 assists. She recorded 21 points, nine rebounds, nine
assists, eight steals, and the game-winning free throws with 10.9 seconds
left in the win over Catholic to start the week. She earned the tournament
MVP at the Optimist Gull Classic as she had a triple-double of 25 points,
12 steals, and 10 assists in the semifinal win over Lehman. Campion ended
her week with 32 points and 14 rebounds in the championship game win over
Newport News.
Tasha Reid
Reid led the Lions to two wins as she scored a career-high 31 points,
pulled down nine rebounds, and had two assists, two blocks, and four steals
in the Lions 75-58 win against visiting Franklin. On Saturday, Mount
St. Joseph defeated last seasons HCAC champion Anderson 73-57. Reid
posted a game-high 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals
against the host Ravens.
Sarah Walsh
Walsh had 20 points, 15 rebounds and four steals in leading unbeaten Colby
to a 74-63 victory over No. 25 Emmanuel. Walsh had 14 points, nine rebounds
and was 4-for-5 from the foul line after halftime. She shot 13-for-22
from the floor and 8-for-12 from the line in a 2-0 week.
Benny West
West scored a season-high 33 points and grabbed five rebounds with three
assists and three steals in a 90-73 win against Louisiana College. He
finished the week 17-for-31 from the floor with nine assists and six steals.
Joseph Thomas
Thomas had 16 points and seven rebounds as Montclair defeated Richard
Stockton, 72-57. He then posted his first double-double of the season
with 20 points and 14 rebounds as MSU rallied from nine points down with
eight minutes left to beat Rowan 73-67. Thomas shot 65% from the field
and 89% at the free throw line.
Clayton Fuller
Fuller helped Emory go 3-0, scoring 56 points in three games, shooting
17-for-32 from the floor, 6-for-10 from 3-point range and 16-for-19 from
the line. He had 16 rebounds and six assists in the three games.
Chris Jeffries
Jeffries scored a career-high 35 points on 12-for-16 shooting with 11
rebounds in 95-85 win at Coe. Scored 31 points on 11-for-14 shooting with
nine rebounds in 88-75 win at No. 14 Illinois Wesleyan, hitting nine of
10 free throws.
Craig Machut
Machut shot 10-for-12 from the floor and 5-for-5 from the line in a 95-77
win against Lake Michigan Conference co-champ Wisconsin Lutheran. In 27
minutes, he scored 25 points, grabbed nine rebounds, had three blocks,
and dished off four assists without turning the ball over.
