Melissa Hartman Hartman
was named E8 Player of the Week for the fifth time this season. Came two
rebounds shy of a triple-double (31 points, 10 steals, eight rebounds)
in a 71-64 win over Ithaca. Fisher went on a 16-0 run to end the game
with Hartman scoring eight of the points. On the week, she averaged 23.7
points, seven rebounds and five steals.
Nahamah Jackson In Salem's
lone contest of the week, Jackson grabbed the fourth most rebounds in
a game in nation this season with 26. In Salem's 50-46 overtime defeat
of Allen, Jackson also added 13 points and five steals. She scored the
bucket that sent the game into overtime and the eventual game-winner.
Amanda
Stanonik
Stanonik averaged 26 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists last week,
netting career highs with 32 points and 16 rebounds against Thiel. She
turned a six-point deficit into an 11-point halftime lead by outscoring
Thiel by herself, 19-2, in the final 5:05 of the first half, hitting five
consecutive three-pointers during the stretch. Stanonik shot 59% (22-for-37)
overall and 47% (8-for-17) from three-point range for the week.
Jennifer Bengel Bengel averaged
26.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg in a 2-0 week for the Bullets. She scored a career-high
34 points in a 71-57 win over Swarthmore on 12-of-16 from the floor and
9-of-9 from the charity stripe. Bengel led Gettysburg with a game-high
18 points and a game-high nine rebounds in a 62-42 win over Ursinus. She
made 17-of-20 free throws (85%) on the week.
Janell Fabor Fabor averaged
20 points, 9.5 rebounds, four assists and 3.5 steals in the Pioneers’
2-0 week. She helped WPU overcome a 15-point second-half deficit against
Kean by scoring a career-high 23 points and snaring 10 rebounds in an
83-76 overtime victory. She scored five her points during the extra session,
adding five steals and four assists in the contest.
Men Tyler Ousley Ousley led
Otterbein to a pair of victories over Heidelberg (96-81) and John Carroll
(78-56) last week. Versus John Carroll, he had career highs with 34 points,
18 rebounds and seven blocks. For the week, Ousley shot 19-for-26 from
the field (73.1%) and 12-for-14 from the charity stripe (85.7%).
Drew Cohen
Cohen averaged 21.5 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks during the Mules'
2-0 week. He shot 9-for-15 from the field for 27 points, 14 rebounds and
eight blocked shots in a 78-64 victory over Middlebury. Cohen chipped
in 16 points, 10 rebounds and three assists as the Mules upset Williams
to earn a NESCAC playoff spot. With the score tied 59-59, Cohen scored
a basket with 2:51 left to put Colby ahead for good on the way to the
67-61 win over Williams.
Kenny McMillan
McMillan averaged 28.7 points, 15 rebounds and 6.3 steals in leading SUNY-Farmingdale
to a 3-0 week. In the two conference victories, he averaged 39.5 points
and seven steals. McMillan had a career-high 37 points and 14 rebounds
against Stevens before closing the week by breaking his career high again
with 42 points along with 14 rebounds against Mount Saint Vincent.
Jordan Kemper
On Wednesday Wheaton upset then No. 3-ranked Augustana 64-60 as Kemper
grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and added eight points on 4-for-4 shooting
from the field. On Saturday night the Thunder earned a 69-66 win against
then No. 7-ranked Illinois Wesleyan. The Thunder co-captain led all scorers
with 25 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field, including 5-for-6
from three-point range. He scored 19 points in a stretch of 8:25 to help
Wheaton overcome a 15-point second half deficit. Kemper added eight rebounds
in the win.
Davon Barton
Barton averaged 15.7 points, 8.3 assists, 3.3 steals and three rebounds
for the Captains in a 3-0 week. The freshman point guard tallied 15 points
and 13 assists in a 78-74 win over Ferrum as fellow freshman Mark Blasingame
narrowly missed a triple-double with nine points (4-for-4 FGs), 13 rebounds
and 10 blocks.
