Kyle Myrick In a 115-83 win against Penn State-Abington, Myrick scored a Division
III season-high 62 points 21-of-36 shooting from the floor. He also recorded
seven steals, six rebounds and six assists. In the Association of Division
III Independents tournament semifinals, Myrick had 30 points, 14 assists,
seven steals and five rebounds in the 116-82 victory. In the 99-79 championship
game win over St. Joseph's, he put 49 points, eight rebounds, six assists
and four steals.
Bryan Schnettler Schnettler averaged 24 points, 3.5 rebounds, three assists, and made
7-of-7 at the foul line, shot 66% from the field (16-of-24) and sank 9-of-17
from three-point range to lead the Tommies to two victories and the MIAC
title. He scored 29 points in a 45-point semifinal win over Hamline, and
then scored a game-high 19 points (14 in first half) in Saturday's 54-47
win over Carleton. Schnettler became the first MIAC player to make 100
three-pointers in one season (he is 105-of-239 for 43%).
Terry Farmer Farmer recorded three straight double doubles as he led the Blue Devils
to the WIAC championship game. He shot 21-for-31 from the floor (67.7%)
for the week.
Charles Holiday Versus Division II Columbia Union, Holiday scored a school record
44 points in an 85-79 overtime road loss. On Senior Day against Southern
Virginia he scored the most points by a Builder in our home gym with 41
in a 112-109 overtime win. He hit a three-pointer with two seconds left
in regulation to tie the game at 99 after the Builders were down 19 points
with 15:55 left. In the overtime, his two free throws with 48 seconds
left put the Builders up 110-109. To close it out he blocked what would
have been the game-tying three-pointer.
Dane Borchers On his way to being named the NCAC tournament MVP, Borchers registered
double-doubles in the semifinal win over Ohio Wesleyan and championship
game win over Wooster. For the week averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds,
hitting 21 of his 28 shots from the floor (75%).
Women
Megan Silva Named the ODAC tournament MVP for the third time in her career, Silva
led the Yellow Jackets to the program's third title in four years. In
the championship game against Bridgewater, she tied her career-high with
34 points, shooting 11-for-15 from the floor (73.3%), including 3-of-4
three-poiners, and making 9-of-10 foul shots. She also had five rebounds,
five assists and three steals. For the tournament, Silva averaged 25.3
points, 5.7 assists, four rebounds and four steals per contest, shooting
57.4% overall (27-for-47), 6-for-9 from three-point distance (66.7%),
and 94.1% at the foul line (16-for-17). Her 76 total points were an ODAC
women's tournament record.
Meia Daniels Daniels recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals
in a 77-58 win over Ozarks in the quarterfinals of the ASC tournament.
She followed that performance with 39 points, eight rebounds and four
steals in the semifinals. Daniels committed only two turnovers in 68 minutes
of play.
Kari Simpson In the three NAC tournament games, Simpson averaged 27.3 points,
10.3 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game, shooting 53.8% from the floor and
46.7% from three-point range. In the quarterfinals versus Thomas, she
finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, three steals and three
blocks. In the semifinals against Lasell, Simpson set a NAC record by
scoring 41 points (on 17-of-21 shooting from the floor). In the championship
game, she led the Beavers with 18 points and eight rebounds and hit four
key free throws in the final minutes to preserve the victory.
Amanda Baker Baker averaged 24.5 points and 16 rebounds in leading the Lady Mavericks
to the AMCC Championship and their first NCAA berth. She shot 20-for-31
from the floor (64.5%) on the week.
Tarra Richardson
Richardson averaged 23 points and 10.3 rebounds on her way to earning
ASC tournament MVP. She scored 23 points and had 16 rebounds in the championship
game. Richardsons 69 points over the three games was a tournament record.
