Tyson Lesesne, St. Mary's (Md.), So., G Lesesne posted game-highs with 28 points and 12 rebounds, adding seven assists and six steals, in leading St. Mary's (Md.) to a 96-85 victory over McDaniel. He shot 9-for-15 from the field (60%) and made all seven of his free throws.
James Mooney, Mount Saint Vincent, Sr., G Mooney averaged 36.5 points, six assists, five rebounds, and 3.5 steals last week. He was 15-for-32 from behind the arc (47%). Mooney netted a career-high 42 points versus York (N.Y.).
Chris Martin, Elmhurst, Sr., F Martin scored a game-high 20 points in just 23 minutes in the Bluejays' 87-56 win over St. Norbert. He finished the game shooting 83 percent from the floor (10-of-12). He followed up that performance by scoring a career-high 40 points in a 87-75 win over Simpson. For the week, Martin shot 76.7% from the floor (23-for-30).
Andy Phillips, Hope, Sr., F Phillips scored the winning basket in a 67-66 victory over NAIA's No. 17-ranked Aquinas, finishing with 20 points and 14 rebounds. In a 79-59 win over NAIA's No. 8-ranked Cornerstone in the championship game, he had 27 points and seven rebounds. He also scored six points in only 12 minutes of action in a 103-46 win over Andrews. Phillips had only three turnovers in all three games combined. He was named MVP of the Select Bank Hall of Fame Classic.
Darryl White, Lincoln, So., C White registered his first career triple-double (12 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks) as Lincoln defeated Cheyney, 81-72, for its second win over Division II team in six days. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots in an 87-74 win over Division II Salem International. For the week, White averaged 10.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.2 blocked shots per game.
Sara Franz, McDaniel, Sr., G The senior point guard averaged 17.7 points, five assists, three rebounds, and two steals in McDaniel's two wins last week. She shot 57% from the floor (12-for-21) and 44% from behind the arc (4-for-9). In only 21 minutes of work in a 80-68 over York (Pa.), Franz scored 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field. She was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week.
Chiresse Paradise, Baruch, So., G Paradise scored 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out eight assists, and recorded seven steals in the 69-59 win over Geneseo State. She followed that performance by tallying 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in the 81-73 win over Farmingdale State. Paradise was named the CUNYAC Player of the Week.
Katie Kulavic, Oglethorpe, Fr., G Kulavic has helped lead Oglethorpe to a 3-0 start on a team with four starting freshmen. She averaged 20 points, six rebounds, four assists, and 2.5 steals in her team's two wins last week over Emory (76-74) and Maryville, Tenn. (89-78).
Mercedes Miller, SUNY-Farmingdale, So., F Mercedes led the Rams averaging 21 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks per game last week. She registered her first double-double and a career-high in scoring against Baruch with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Mercedes was 22-for-40 from the field (55%) and 19-for-24 from the charity stripe (79%).
Tarra Richardson, McMurry, So., C Richardson averaged 29 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 2.5 steals while shooting 72.2% from the floor during the Indians' two American Southwest Conference road victories against Texas-Dallas (76-57) and Texas-Tyler (92-77). She had a career-high 34 points, and added 15 rebounds, seven blocks, and four steals against the UTT Patriots.
