The scoop on our honorees:

Christopher Newport guard Misty Hart shot 71.9% from the field en route to a 32 point-per-game performance. The 5-8 senior also averaged eight assists and four steals while shooting 61.5% from three-point range.

Senior shooting guard Jen Costello of the University of Chicago scored 16.5 points per game and added 8.5 rebounds. She also moved into fourth place all-time on the Maroons scoring list with 1,014 career points.

Susquehanna's Kristen Venne shot 22-for-29 from the floor and 11-for-11 from the line, scoring 55 points in only 69 minutes over three games. The 5-9 junior forward added 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals. Why only 23 minutes per game? The flu. "I wasn't very healthy at all. I was in bed yesterday (Friday) since two o'clock and I got up this morning at eight -- so I didn't know how I was going to be. I felt all right. I wasn't nauseated anymore, but I was just out of breath and dehydrated," said Venne. "I just decided that I couldn't let it (the flu) get to me and I had to go out and play a big game and get everyone else up."

And two centers again. First, Alia Fischer of Washington U. (Mo.). The 6-2 sophomore shot 22-for-23 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the line, scoring 46 points with six blocked shots in only 40 minutes action in two UAA contests.

Sophomore Tara Carleton of Randolph-Macon Woman's College scored 70 points in her two games, shooting 27-for-36 from the floor and adding 12 rebounds and six assists.

The men's point guard is 5-10 Nate Camp. The Colby-Sawyer senior shot 5-for-11 from three-point range, averaging 9.0 assists per game and 9.5 points. He had 14 points and a career-high 13 assists in a win at Salve Regina. It was the team's second-highest ever single-game assist total.

Hope guard Dan Van Hekken scored 45 points in two games, shooting 17-for-26 from the floor. The senior added eight rebounds and five steals.

Andy Panko returned to the lineup for the third time in four weeks behind the strength of a 45-point performance against Franklin & Marshall. The Lebanon Valley junior forward averaged 34.7 points for the week, shooting 32-for-52 from the floor and 39-for-44 from the free-throw line. Well, that and the 12.7 rebounds and two blocked shots per game.

Christopher Newport senior center Steve Butler scored 19 points and pulled down 12.5 rebounds per game in two contests, blocking seven shots while shooting 16-for-24 from the floor.
