PASADENA, Calif. – While setting a program record for wins would be the highlight of the decade for many teams, 2015-16 may only have been the beginning for Caltech men's basketball. After a year in which Head Coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger's squad spent 22 days atop the SCIAC standings, won a program-record seven SCIAC games and set new records for points, rebounds and blocks in a season, there is no telling how far this team can go in continuing to make history.
After facing Rutgers in 2014 and almost stunning eventual Big East champion Seton Hall in 2015, the Bearcats will head to Queens to take on the St. John's University Red Storm for an exhibition contest on October 31st, 2016 at Carnesecca Arena.
Caltech has released its schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 winter season, which includes 14 home games and a pair of Division I exhibitions. His latest honor comes via D3hoops.com, which named him to their All-America second team, one year after he was selected as an Honorable Mention. An Exercise Science major from New Berlin, Wis., Sabin is the only player from the Midwest Conference to make any of the five D3hoops.com All-America teams and is the first player in the 117-year history of the Ripon College men's basketball program to earn All-America honors in more than one season.
