Echevarria nets CCC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College junior Marcos Echevarria was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week in men's basketball on Monday afternoon.
Echevarria helped lead the Bison (20-3, 14-2 CCC) to a 2-0 mark last week, averaging 24.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Echevarria scored 20 points and grabbed a rebound with two assists, three steals, and a block in a 93-67 win at Salve Regina. He followed that up with 29 points, five rebounds, and three assists in a 73-61 win at Western New England. For the week, Echevarria shot 50% (18-of-36) from the field.

Echevarria has scored 20 points in six-straight games and the Bison have won all six contests.
The Bison have clinched the top seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament behind Echevarria's team-leading 21.8 points per game. The junior is also averaging 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 35.8 minutes per game. Echevarria leads the CCC in three-pointers made (92) while ranking fourth in scoring, and second in both assists and steals per game.
Marcos Echevarria and the Nichols men's basketball team return to action on Tuesday night when they host Eastern Nazarene College at 7:30 p.m.
