Scamman becomes Athenas’ first two-time All-Region selection

CLAREMONT, Calif. – For the second-straight season and second time in her career, senior guard Kimberly Scamman (CMC) of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team has been named to the All-West Region Team. This season she made the second team after landing on the third team in 2014.

Sarah Kolbeck in 2004 is the last CMS women's basketball player to be selected to the All-West Region team from CMS besides Scamman. began its All-Region teams in 2002.

Scamman helped lead the Athenas to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) regular season and postseason tournament titles in 2014-15. CMS finished the season 24-4 and a perfect 16-0 during the conference regular season. CMS then advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships, losing to Puget Sound in the opening round earlier this month. The 24 wins this season equals the CMS record, set last season.

This season, the Northridge, Calif. native led the team in scoring (16.1 ppg), rebounding (6.8), assists (2.2 apg) and steals (2.5 spg). She finished third in the conference in scoring, ninth in rebounding, 13th in assists and second in steals.
