ASTON, PA. -- Five players finished in double figures and a dominating fourth quarter helped propel the third-seeded Griffins to an 88-69 win over second-seeded Neumann in the semifinals of the 2017 Colonial States Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Wednesday night.

Gwynedd will now host the 2017 CSAC Championship Game this Saturday against fifth-seeded Cabrini, who was able to knock off top-seeded Marywood in the other semifinal, here at The Griffin Complex with a start time of 2 p.m.

Charlotte Kucowski paced GMercyU with 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for her 11th double double on the season.  Monet McGorda netted 12 of her career-high 16 points in the second half. Nicole Dombrowski (14 points), Chyanne Fine (12 points), and Bianca Adams (10 points) also reached double digits as Gwynedd will make its first appearance in the title game since the 2012-13 season and 16th overall in the program's history.

AAliya Hayes scored 26 points for the Knights (18-8) who also got 15 from Nafisa Saunders.

Two free throws from Hayes gave Neumann a 13-8 lead late in the first before Gwynedd ran off a 12-0 spurt capped with back-to-back three-pointers from Kucowski to give the Griffins the lead for good. In all, the team ended the stanza on an 18-2 run to lead 26-15 after one. Kucowski would score 11 points in the first 10 minutes.

It was more of the same in the second, as key threes helped keep a double-digit lead throughout, including a triple from rookie Marissa Sandone with six ticks before the half to put Gwynedd up 13 (43-30) at the break.

Neumann would scratch their way back in the third, climbing within 53-48 with 3:47 in the quarter, but the Griffins stretched the score back to 63-53 after the third.

A trifecta from McGorda to open the fourth kept the momentum rolling as GM shot 8-of-14 in the quarter and 17-for-30 in the second half alone.

After both teams shot over 40% in the first half, Gwynedd would limit the Knights to 15-of-42 (35%) in the second half. The Griffins also shot a season best from behind the arc (57%), going 8-for-14, and from the floor 31-for-58 (53%).

This will be the sixth meeting between Gwynedd Mercy and Cabrini in the conference championship game. GM is 1-4 all-time with their last meeting in 2012-13. GM won the title over the Cavaliers in 2006-07.
