January 19, 2019 Marajiah Bacon Breaks All-Time NJAC Scoring Record in Tight #NJCUWBB Loss to Rowan GLASSBORO, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University senior point guard Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) now stands alone as the greatest scorer in the history of women's basketball in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. With 1:03 remaining in the third quarter of a fittingly closely-contested, road conference matchup against the top team in the league, Bacon hit a 25-foot three-pointer from right in front of her own bench for her 2,048th, 2,049th and 2,050th points—passing William Paterson's Michelle Jones who scored 2,048 points from 1987-91.
January 16, 2019 Bacon sizzles against former team New Jersey City guard Marajiah Bacon scored 27 points against her former team, including the 2000th of her career, in the Gothic Knights' 69-64 loss to Kean. Bacon is 28 points shy of becoming the all-time leading scorer in NJAC women's basketball history.
January 16, 2019 Marajiah Bacon Scores No. 2,000 for #NJCUWBB in Tight Loss to Kean JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University senior point guard Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) became the 47th player in NCAA Division III history to reach the 2,000-point plateau and did so in her 85th career game while playing against her former school, Kean University. But despite the historical moment and a hard-fought effort by NJCU, the Gothic Knights dropped a 69-64 New Jersey Athletic Conference decision to the Cougars on January 16 on Coach Charlie Brown Court at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center.
January 14, 2019 #NJCUWBB Hangs with Wesleyan, but Cardinal Size Proves Too Much in Fourth JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University women's basketball team (4-12) put up a strong fight against Wesleyan University (Conn.) (9-6), trailing by just two entering the fourth quarter but the Cardinals closed out NJCU, 72-65. It was the final non-conference game of the season for NJCU and played on Coach Charlie Brown Court at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on January 14.
January 12, 2019 Rutgers-Camden Turns the Heat off Bacon and Tops #NJCUWBB in Conference Play CAMDEN, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Less than 48 hours after Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) of the New Jersey City University women's basketball team (4-11, 1-8 NJAC) was able to set the single-game school record with 46 points against Pratt Institute, the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden (9-6, 5-4 NJAC) were able to limit Bacon to a season-low 14 points, topping the Gothic Knights by a final score of 79-60 in the process. NJCU was playing for the third time in four days.
