      <description>Salem, Mass. &#x2013;  Rachael Carter (Merrimack, NH) scored 25 points and added 11 rebounds and six assists to lead Salem State to a 69-64 victory over MCLA, to help the Vikings clinch the final seed for the upcoming Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. Salem State beat out the Trailblazers for the sixth seed and will now face third seeded Worcester State in a first round game at Clark University this Tuesday at 7:00 PM. The Vikings improve to 5-20, and 3-9 in conference while MCLA ends their season with a record of 7-18, and 1-11 slate  in the MASCAC.</description>

      <title>Owls Surge to 70-55 Victory</title>

      <description>Salem, Mass. --  Forbasaw Nkamebo's (Amherst, MA) 26 points and 11 rebounds helped Westfield State remain perfect in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) as the Owls earned a 70-55 victory over the Vikings of Salem State Wednesday night at Twohig Gymnasium on 'Think Pink" night. The Owls stay unbeaten in the MASCAC (9-0) and improve to 18-4 on the season. The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for the Vikings and drops them to 4-17 and 2-7 in the MASCAC.  The Salem State Athletic Department hosted its annual "Think Pink Night" night, sponsored by Seaport Credit Union, during the college's men's and women's basketball games tonight. It was a highly successful event that raised awareness and collected funds for the continued research of breast cancer.</description>

Salem State, which won for the second straight time, improves to 4-16 and improves their MASCAC record to 2-6 this season. The Lancers fall to 4-4 in conference and 13-8 on the season.</description>

      <description>Salem, Mass. -- Rachel Carter (Merrimack, NH) led the Vikings of Salem State to a thrilling 57-56 victory over the Fitchburg State Falcons with a game-winning layup with five seconds on the clock to snap a 14-game losing streak. Carter had a big night from the floor, scoring 16 points while adding eight rebounds and a game-high nine assists. Salem State improves to 3-16 on the year and earned their first Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) victory this season (1-6). With the loss, the Falcons slip to 11-8 on the season, and fall to 3-5 in the MASCAC.  The game was resumed from Saturday after court issues forces a postponement.</description>

The win propels the Corsairs to their seventh straight victory, and raises their record to 16-4. The Vikings, who were led by Rachael Carter' s (Merrimack, NH) 20 points and eight boards, slip to 2-16 on the year. Carter has now amassed 1,548 points and moved into 5th place on Salem State's career scoring list, passing former conference player of the year Terri Niles ('95-'99).</description>
