What others say: "I just watch what our players are doing out there. They're focused and committed. The captains [Daigneault and Sarah Leyman] have done a great job just getting the team ready. I just say a few things and they already know what they need to do." -- G.P. Gromacki, Amherst head coach (March 2011)

Career synopsis: Many players on our All-Decade team faced each other in the postseason over the past decade. Jaclyn Daigneault showed her versatility in back-to-back wins against two other All-Decade honorees during Amherst's 2011 championship season.
First, Daigneault scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Amherst's 68-49 win over Babson in the Elite 8. Daigneault outscored and outrebounded Babson star Nicole Wurdeman, using an array of scoring moves inside the paint and outside the arc. Then, in the Final Four, Daigneault was part of Amherst's stellar defensive performance against Christopher Newport scoring sensation Chelsie Schweers. The CNU star scored 19 points but she needed 40 minutes and 23 shots to do it, as Daigneault and her teammates harrassed Schweers with their quickness and length. Daigneault herself posted eight points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, as Amherst advanced, 69-59. In the national championship game, Daigneault took the role of defensive stopper against Washington U's leading scorer and Amherst battled past the Bears, 64-55, for its first of three national championships.
Daigneault, who finished in the top five all-time at Amherst for scoring and rebounds, was recently inducted in the Connecticut Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. She is currently finishing her medical school degree at the University of Massachusetts while working as a Clinical Research Coordinator for the Transplant Surgery Department at Massachusetts General Hospital.
