In the NWC semifinals Whitworth put a major dent in No. 25 Whitman's postseason hopes and No. 8 Lewis and Clark finally turned the tables on George Fox.

Whitworth edged No. 25 Whitman 55-54 and eliminated the Missionairies from the NWC playoffs. Whitworth scored just one point in the final 2:05 but held off the Missionairies for the victory. Whitman is 20-5 overall, 16-3 in region and was ranked sixth in the most recent West region rankings.
The Pirates made 11 three-pointers in 26 attempts (42 percent) while the Missionairies missed all seven shots from behind the arc.
In the other NWC semifinal, No. 8 Lewis and Clark defeated George Fox 75-59 and ended the Bruins' season. Katie Anderson came off the Pioneers' bench to score 20 points and grab six rebounds in 25 minutes. The seniors on Lewis and Clark saw previous seasons end with losses to George Fox in the 2012 NCAA tournament and the 2010 NWC tournament.
Farmingdale State may have ended Mount St. Mary's long run of NCAA tournament appearances as the Rams shut down the Knights in the Skyline semifinals, 40-29. The Rams held the Knights to 22 percent shooting (11-for-49). Mount St. Mary, which was not selected in the NCAA's most recent Atlantic region rankings, has made the NCAA tournament each year since 2000.
Elsewhere the top seeds fared better on Thursday night. No. 4 Ohio Northern ran its winning streak to 24 games and eliminated Wilmington from the OAC tournament, 62-39. The Polar Bears will play Otterbein in Saturday's final since the Cardinals took care of Mount Union 80-59.
St. Thomas kepts its dreams of a return trip to the national semifinals alive. The Tommies surged past St. Mary's (Minn.) 69-60 and into the MIAC semifinals where Concordia-Moorhead awaits. The Cobbers beat St. Benedict 64-48.
Mary Washington will have a third chance to beat Marymount, this time with the CAC title and automatic bid on the line. The Eagles dropped York (Pa.) 55-49 while Marymount eliminated Salisbury 61-46.
