Octavio Brito became the fourth Division III men's basketball to reach the 2,000-point plateau this season as the Keene State All-America guard scored 23 points on Tuesday night in Vermont as the No. 22 Owls defeated Castleton 92-75.

Brito joins Trey Minter of Berea, who reached the milestone in a Feb. 1 win at Rose-Hulman; Christian Parker of Mount Union, who reached 2,000 at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, and Deonte Jackson of LeTourneau, who hit 2,000 on Dec. 30 against Concordia-Moorhead.

His moment came late in the first half of Tuesday night's game, as he took a pass at the top of the arc with his team trailing, put the ball on the floor with his left hand and pulled up in the lane for an 8-footer which rattled in. He finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Owls rallied for the win.

Four women's players have reached the 2,000 milestone this season as well: Lyric Grumblatt of Rivier, Mia Castillo of Baruch, Adrianna Vazquez of Nichols and Middlebury's Alexa Mustafaj.
