Augustana scored its second Top 10 upset in two days by dropping No. 3 UW-La Crosse, while No. 12 St. Thomas dealt No. 5 Mary Washington its first loss. Meanwhile, the Bethel women capped an impressive trip to Wisconsin Dells with a double-overtime win over Coe, and UW-Platteville bolted past Trine in Michigan.

After beating No. 8 Calvin on Friday night, Augustana boosted its record to 6-4 with an 82-75 win over No. 3 UW-La Crosse at the Wisconsin Dells tournament.
Augustana led the Eagles for much of the second half, though UW-La Crosse kept it close and even briefly gained the lead midway through the period. The Vikings broke a 61-all tie with an 8-0 run that started and ended with baskets by reserve guard Andre Klaver. The Eagles trimmed the lead to four but could not get closer, as Dani Romero sank two free throws and Klaver scored a layup that pushed Augustana's lead to 10 in the final minute.
Sam Grieger scored 25 points in 40 minutes for UW-La Crosse (8-1), but the Vikings overcame that performance with a 41-15 bench scoring advantage. Klaver scored 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting in 15 minutes and Marieon Anderson just missed a double-double (10 points, nine rebounds).
Lucas Gordon’s tip-in with five seconds remaining lifted No. 11 Redlands over No. 16 Hampden-Sydney, 91-90, and sent the Bulldogs into the D3hoops.com Classic with two impressive wins. Gordon scored off an offensive rebound to give Redlands an 89-87 lead in the final minute, and then Travis Stickney countered with a three-pointer that put the Tigers in front 90-89. On Redlands’ final possession, Jhace Boston had his layup attempt blocked by Alex Cannon, but Gordon grabbed the loose ball and scored the winner.
Redlands (7-1), which topped No. 13 Roanoke on Friday night, will play MSOE and Mary Hardin-Baylor at the D3hoops.com Classic after Christmas.
No. 12 St. Thomas stifled No. 5 Mary Washington and downed the Eagles, 64-55, in San Antonio. The Celts held UMW to 31 percent shooting (19 for 61), and Corey Thompson and Reyce Allen combined for 29 points for St. Thomas. The Celts improve to 8-1 with their lone loss coming by one-point to Washington U, while the Eagles dip to 9-1.
One day after edging Nazareth, No. 20 York (Pa.) was not as fortunate against Ursinus, as the Bears beat the Spartans, 80-70. Jamie Murphy notched 24 points with nine rebounds, and Nick Nocito tallied 11 points, seven boards and seven assists for Ursinus (6-3). Jayden Rowe led York (9-1) with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
No. 9 Mount Union committed 22 turnovers and got outscored by Ohio Northern 30-16 in the paint, but the Purple Raiders found a way to beat the Polar Bears, 73-71, and head into the holidays undefeated. Chance Casenhiser led Mount Union with a game-high 19 points, and the Purple Raiders (11-0, 4-0 OAC) converted 24 free throws.
Scranton dominated the glass and got a 30-point double-double from Sammy Tornabene in the Royals’ 73-63 win over Nazareth. Scranton (9-1) outrebounded the Golden Flyers 49-25 and went 9 for 12 from the foul line down the stretch.
In women's action, No. 19 Bethel capped a productive trip to Wisconsin Dells with an 88-84 double-overtime win over Coe. The Royals looked like they would claim victory in the first overtime before Coe guard Caydee Kirkham hit a game-tying three in the closing seconds and forced the second overtime. Kirkham gave the Kohawks an 84-83 lead with 37 seconds left, but Emily Erickson answered with a three that put Bethel in front, and then she grabbed a defensive rebound, got fouled, and iced the victory with two free throws.
All-American Elly Schmitz efficiently scored 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting with nine rebounds for Bethel (7-1) before fouling out. Kirkham poured in 34 points for Coe (8-3), which lost two hard-fought games against ranked teams this weekend. No. 3 UW-Oshkosh, which held off Coe on Friday night, eased past Edgewood on Saturday afternoon, 78-42. The Titans (9-0) hit 10 three-pointers and used 19 players in the rout.
Ella Mackiewicz erupted for 14 points in the fourth quarter, and UW-Platteville rallied past Trine, 67-63. The Thunder led by 12 entering the final period but the Pioneers went 9-for-13 with five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Mackiewicz finished with 21 points, and Madalyn Reichmann added 14 more for UW-Platteville (9-1).
The eight WIAC teams have a combined 64-11 non-conference record with every team at 7-4 or better.
No. 23 Baldwin Wallace notched an important win in the OAC race by going to Columbus and defeating Capital, 74-64. The Yellow Jackets had a 35-0 bench scoring advantage and outscored the Comets in the paint, 44-24. Laura McCoy scored 13 points for Baldwin Wallace (8-2, 4-0 OAC), which will host Capital in the rematch on Feb. 7.
St. Scholastica left the chilly confines of Minnesota and dealt Cal Lutheran its first loss of the season, 88-72. The Saints led from start to finish behind 65 points combined from Ava Haus, Evie Schmitz, and Kloey Lind. Alina Ballard had a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) for the Regals (9-1).
Christopher Newport used a balanced attack to hold off Catholic, 81-73, and extend its winning streak to nine games. The Captains outscored the Cardinals 26-4 from the foul line and had four players score double figures, with two others just one point shy. Mia Wilson led the way for CNU with 19 points. Anna Scoblick scored 18 points with four 3-pointers for Catholic (7-4).
Dickinson shot well in the second half and raced past No. 22 Elizabethtown, 66-49, in Central Pennsylvania. The Red Devils took a one-point lead into the half and then built on it by shooting 48 percent after the break. Dickinson (7-4) scored 25 points off 20 Etown turnovers and dealt the Blue Jays (7-2) their second consecutive loss.
