(Bradford, PA) – In what may be the AMCC's top men's basketball rivalry, this game did not disappoint as the Mavs outlasted Pitt-Bradford (73-71) in a critical early season matchup between conference contenders.

The story of this game would be the Mavs dominance in the paint as they outscored the Panthers (46-26) in that area.  Neither team would budge in the opening twenty minutes as they were knotted at (38-38) at the break.

The second half would be nearly as tight, with Medaille hanging on for the two point victory.  The Mavs trailed (71-70) with one second remaining when Angel Flores (Bronx, NY/Samuel Gompers) knocked down a pair of free throws to give the Mavs a one point advantage.  An ensuing technical foul on the Panthers would put senior forward Ron Malicki (Machias, NY/Pioneer) on the line, where he would knock down one of two attempts, leading to the two point victory.

Malicki played a spectacular game as he posted a game high (23) points and (9) rebounds, connecting on (9 of 15) shots from the floor and (5 of 6) from the charity stripe.

Fellow seniors Joe Mogavero (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) (11 points- 5 rebounds) and Ricky Reed (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) (17 points – 8 rebounds) also played big roles in the huge road win for the Mavs.

The victory moves Medaille to (4-3) overall and (2-1) in AMCC play.  They will head to Franciscan University on Saturday (12/11) for a 4:00pm tip-off.
