ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.Keith Fogel's eyes had to light up from the get go Monday evening, as he saw visiting Rutgers-Camden employ a 2-3 zone from the opening tip. The senior guard notched a game-high 22 points, including the 1,000th of his career, as the Elizabethtown College men's basketball team went off for 18 3-pointers in a 108-65 romp of the Scarlet Raptors at Thompson Gymnasium.

Fogel and his teammates hammered home a number of early treys against Rutgers-Camden's (2-10) zone, but the visitors did not bother to change their approach. That allowed Fogel and fellow senior Joe Flanagan to combine for eight first half triples on just nine attempts. E-town (10-2) connected on a stunning 76.9 percent of its downtown attempts (10-of-13) in the opening 20 minutes.

After struggling to single-digit scoring outputs in each of his last three games, Fogel put the recent tough stretch behind him and went to work Monday. His 3-pointer at 17:44 opened the scoring and it took him just over 10 minutes to eclipse the 13 points needed to reach the millennium mark. Appropriately, points 999, 1,000 and 1,001 came courtesy of another trey that made it 31-14 Blue Jays with 9:21 to play in the half. The bucket came in the midst of three straight 3-pointers for Fogel, who became the 31st player in school history to etch his name into the 1,000 point club. He's the second player to reach the mark in the last two seasons. Former teammate Mike Church finished his career with 1,068 in 2010.

While Fogel whisked past his personal mark, another Elizabethtown player closed in on his own with a stellar first half shooting display. Flanagan nailed all four 3-pointers he attempted in the half and finished 5-of-7 overall from the floor to net 14 points. He stands just 85 points shy of reaching 1,000 himself.

So many storylines came into play for Elizabethtown, as it had everything going against the overmatched Scarlet Raptors. Kyle McConnell finished with a career-high 10 assists. The Blue Jays nailed 18 3-pointers in the contest, the most in any game over the last decade. Eleven of 14 players scored at least a point and 10 scored at least five or more. All together the result was Elizabethtown's first 100+ point performance since a 105-52 beating of Lancaster Bible College on Dec. 1, 2007.

Monday's game was hardly in doubt for the home side, which extended an early lead to 20 points on a Fogel 3-pointer with 8:32 left in the first half. With eight minutes to play in the second half, the lead was comfortably in the 30's and it would get as high as 44 on Ben Cable's bucket and foul shot with 1:18 to play.

Bryan Harrity scored 10 points, while Cable and Andrew Mantz both had 11 off the pine for E-town. The Jays shot a sizzling 60.7 percent from the floor (37-of-61) in the contest and an even hotter 66.7 percent from beyond the arc (18-of-27). Mantz also collected a game-high seven rebounds.

Rutgers-Camden did manage to place four players in double-figures, led by Eric Goode's 15 points.

A tough Wednesday night road contest against Commonwealth Conference foe Messiah is next on the docket for E-town. Tip-off from Brubaker Auditorium is set for 7 p.m.
