ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — The Elizabethtown College men's basketball team dropped its home finale 74-55 to the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen Tuesday night at Thompson Gymnasium.

The Blue Jays (16-7, 7-6) held a 33-31 halftime lead over the Dutchmen (18-6, 9-4). However, the momentum shifted to Lebanon Valley's favor on the weight of a 17-2 run from the 17:12 mark until 12:31 remaining in the game. At the end of the run, E-town's 38-35 lead evaporated into to 52-40 deficit.

The Jays were never able to recover, and thanks to a game-high 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting by Lebanon Valley's Joe Meehan, the Dutchmen were able to pull out the road victory.

As a team, the Dutchmen went 24-of-37 from the free throw line, while the Jays shot 5-of-14 at the line. The Blue Jays won the battle of the boards by a 44-39 margin, but turned the ball over 17 times to the Dutchmen's 10.

E-town was paced on the offensive side by Keith Fogel's 14 points and Kyle McConnell, who added 11 of his own. Junior Dan Silver grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Blue Jays on the night.

Before the game, E-town's six seniors, Fogel, Joe Flanagan, Brady Haughney, Mark Vogel, Matt Brown and Bryan Harrity, were recognized with a senior night ceremony.

On Saturday, the Blue Jays will travel to Glenside, Pa. to take on the Arcadia Knights. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.

If E-town wins Saturday, they are guaranteed a spot in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs, with the semifinals set for Feb. 23. The Blue Jays still have a shot of wrapping up the three or four seed, with the top four teams making the tournament.
