CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. - The Rosemont Ravens men's basketball team (13-12, 9-9 CSAC) shot 50% from the field in the first half, including 7-for-11 (63.6%) from beyond the arc to take early control of tonight's game at Baptist Bible College (3-22, 3-15), beating the Defenders by a final score of 66-60.

The victory signified the most wins in a season (13), the most wins in conference play (9), and earned the first post-season berth for the program. The Ravens ended up with the #4 seed in the conference and will host the #5 seed, Neumann University, on Saturday, February 18 (time TBD).

The Ravens out-shot the Defenders 50% to 28% and took what seemed like a comfortable 16-point lead, 34-18, into the locker room at the half. Early in the second half the Ravens would open up their largest lead, 39-19 with 18:35 left and the Ravens were coasting. But the Defenders put the brakes on the Ravens and used their outside game (shooting 7-for-12 from downtown, 58.3% in the second half) to pull back several times to within six points. Rosemont was outscored 25-11 as their lead was cut to 50-44 with 4:43 left in the game. Rosemont extended that separation briefly, but Baptist Bible came back again, getting to within 60-54 with 38 seconds remaining. From there the Ravens shot six-for-six in the fouling game in the waning seconds to fight off a couple of Defender three-point buckets down the stretch.

Rosemont junior DeAndre Jordan (Jr./Henry E. Lackey/Marbury, Md.) scored 24 points to lead both teams on 6-for-11 from the field and 10-for-11 from the charity stripe. While Jordan was the only Raven scoring in double figures, Mitch Carsillo (Jr./Collingswood, NJ) tallied nine while Dan Kearney (Jr./Cardinal O'Hara/Glen Mills, Pa.) and Derrick Carter (Jr./Millville, NJ) each added eight points.

For Baptist Bible, Christian Attlesey scored a double-double (10 points, 10 boards) and Luke Peterson scored 17.

The Ravens host Neumann University in the CSAC Quarterfinal playoff game on Saturday, 2/18. Game time will be announced. The details of the game will be posted on the Rosemont Athletics web site, on Facebook (Rosemont Ravens) and on Twitter (@RosemontRavens).
