Concordia Texas senior Dwayne Patterson named American Southwest Conference Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas – Concordia University Texas senior Dwayne Patterson was named American Southwest Conference (ASC) Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Patterson scored a career-high 38 points and added 12 rebounds to help the Tornados capture a 129-127 victory over Huston-Tillotson in the season opener on Nov. 15. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward also handed out five assists and added one steal and one blocked shot in the win.

Patterson was 13-for-23 from the field, including 2-for-5 from beyond the arc, and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line in a game-high 31 minutes of action.

It marks the third career weekly award for the 2013 ASC West Division Player of the Year. He was tabbed ASC West Division Player of the Week twice last season.
