CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Wesley College's David Langan was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Week and was also selected to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday. This is the second time this season that Langan has earned both honors.
A senior center from Sayreville, N.J., Langan was also named the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 24.5 points, 15.0 rebounds and three blocked shots per game in a pair of road victories. Langan posted a double-double with 16 points, 19 boards and a career-high five blocks at Salisbury, before scoring a career-high 33 points, including 15-of-18 shooting from the charity stripe, and tallying 11 rebounds and four assists in the victory over 13th-ranked Mary Washington.
In Saturday's win over the Eagles which gave Wesley a program-record 20 victories and the top seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament, Langan became the 12th Wesley player to eclipse the 1,000-point threshold, and also became the school's all-time leading rebounder.
Langan and the Wolverines (20-2, 12-2 CAC) close out the regular season with a pair of home games next week, starting with Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday, February 19 at 8 pm. Three days later, Wesley hosts St. Mary's on February 22 at 3 pm.
Prior to the game against the Seahawks, the Wolverines will honor its three seniors, Brandin Youngblood, David Langan and Eric Selby, in a pregame ceremony.
