Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's basketball team continues its three-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) road swing with a game at Bluffton University on Saturday, January 23, at 2 p.m. from Bluffton, Ohio.
The two teams last met on January 2, with Bluffton picking up a 74-68 victory inside the Grizzlies' Spurlock Center.
Saturday's game features the HCAC's top two leading scorers: Franklin junior Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe), who is averaging a conference-best 21.9 points per game, and Bluffton's Thayne Recker, who follows closely behind at 21.7 points per contest.
Mann is one of four double-figure scorers for the Grizzlies. The guard leads the team by averaging seven rebounds per outing.
Senior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) leads the HCAC with 84 assists. He is scoring 15.1 points per game on the season.
Junior John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) is averaging 10.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest this winter. Classmate Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) is at 11.4 points per game.
Senior Matt Niehoff (Rushville, Ind./Rushville) is shooting 46.2 percent from behind the three-point field goal arc and is scoring 7.1 points per contest.
Bluffton stands 8-8 on the season and 3-6 in HCAC play. The Beavers have lost five straight games and are coming off a 76-68 loss at Defiance College on Wednesday. Austin Rohde (16.2 ppg) and Billy Taflinger (9.6 ppg) join Recker in providing punch for the team's offensive attack.
