The men's basketball team suffered an 88-81 CUNYAC loss to the Lightning of Lehman College on Friday night in the Bronx, New York.
The two teams played a tightly contested game throughout the first half and the first part of the second, but the momentum changed with under nine minutes left as the Lighting went on a game-busting 10-0 run to lead 72-62.
The Bearcats rallied to get as close as three (77-74) on a dunk by rookie Jason Prettowith 2:43 left, but the Lightning responded with back-to-back baskets to build their lead back up to 81-74, which was enough to hold on for the home victory.
Sophomore Chimaechi Ekekeugborhad another big night, missing a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds.
Rookie Doyin Isaacwas pivotal again with 16 total points, including 10 in the second half, along with five rebounds and two assists.
Raymond De La Cruzalso had a solid night with 16 points to continue to climb up the all-time Baruch scoring charts.
Olando Minott led five players in double-figures for Lehman with a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, February 9, with a 7:30 p.m. CUNYAC contest against the Beavers of CCNY.
