CHESTER, Pa. – The Stevenson University men's basketball team could not overcome a 12-point halftime deficit as the Mustangs (6-7, 0-2 MAC Commonwealth) fell to the 15th-ranked Widener Pride (11-2, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) 85-75 on Saturday afternoon.
Myles Jackson had a team and game-high 21 points on 6-for-12 shooting with Ronald Ayers netting 20 as he also made 50 percent (9-for-18) of his shots on the afternoon. As a team, the Mustangs shot 46.8 percent from the field, but, Widener made 11 three-pointers on the day to take the win.
Rasheed Cooley added in 13 points, with Jackson getting eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Widener – who led 47-35 at intermission – led by as much as 16 late in the second half before Stevenson was able to close the gap.
The Mustangs head to York (Pa.) on Wednesday night.
