Kalamazoo's Nicholson named MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Kalamazoo College's Perri (Weiderman) Nicholson was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's (MIAA) Player of the Week on Monday, Dec. 23.

A junior from Three Rivers, Mich. (Three Rivers HS), Nicholson came off the bench to score 16 points and pull down 19 rebounds in 23 minutes of action as Kalamazoo rallied from a nine-point deficit to defeat Mount St. Joseph, Ohio, 78-73, for its fourth straight win, the Hornets' longest winning streak in nine years. She made 5-of-11 shots from the field (45 percent) and 6-of-7 from the free throw line (86 percent).

Nicholson is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Kalamazoo (4-4) returns to action at U of M-Dearborn on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 12 p.m.
