March 13, 2026 No. 12 Bates women's basketball's run ends at undefeated No. 2 Scranton in Sweet 16 The undefeated and No. 2 nationally ranked University of Scranton Royals used a 12-0 first quarter run to take command on Friday, defeating No. 12 Bates women's basketball by a count of 76-59 in the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament.

March 7, 2026 Bates women's basketball defeats Smith 74-70 in overtime in all-time classic NCAA tournament game The No. 12 nationally ranked Bates women's basketball team pulled off a comeback for the history books, rallying from 18 points down to defeat No. 6 Smith 74-70 in overtime in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament Saturday night at a packed Alumni Gymnasium. 
March 6, 2026 Round 2: Saturday night Maine event Bates found some late game magic and ousted Smith from the NCAA Tournament in Lewiston, while Southern Maine turned back the clock in a road win over Bowdoin. Elsewhere, Johns Hopkins set a new record, WashU pushed past OWU, Hope outlasted Illinois Wesleyan, and the top four seeds moved on.
March 6, 2026 Hughes and Spolter propel Bates women's hoops to 71-57 win over USMMA in first round of NCAA tournament The No. 12 nationally ranked Bates women's basketball team got off to a fast start and got huge performances from junior Sarah Hughes and senior Sophie Spolter in a 71-57 win over The United States Merchant Marine Academy in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament Friday night at Alumni Gym.
