January 02, 2026SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Cortland women's basketball team jumped out to leads of 20-7 after one quarter and 47-16 at halftime and the Red Dragons defeated Rivier University of New Hampshire, 74-27, during the second day of the Springfield College Fairfield Inn & Suites Enfield/Naismith Classic. Cortland allowed its lowest point total since a 53-25 win at Buffalo State in February 2009.

W&J entered the game in a tie for 25th place in the WBCA national poll and the second-highest "others receiving votes" team in the D3hoops.com poll.
