    The Oglethorpe men's basketball team secured a big road win Saturday afternoon in Maryville, Tennessee, as junior guard Lane Foster banked in a running 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded to give the Stormy Petrels an 83-81 overtime victory over the homestanding Maryville Scots at the Maryville Thanksgiving Classic. The victory improved the team to 3-2 on the season.

In the end, though, it was the top-seeded Colonels who advanced to the SAA championship game with a 75-72 win over the fourth-seeded Stormy Petrels at the SAA Tournament semifinals in Danville, Kentucky.

The fourth-seeded Stormy Petrels came back from a 16-point deficit in the first half and came through with some big shots and clutch free throws in overtime to knock off the fifth-seeded Panthers and advance to Saturday's semifinal round in Danville, Kentucky.

With the win, the Stormy Petrels moved into a tie for third place in the SAA at 5-4 and improved to 11-9 overall.
